Why should I join a fit camp? These fit camps were created to provide women with the opportunity to workout in a fun, friendly atmosphere with other women. Some of the benefits you may expect from participating in a camp are increased confidence, more energy, fat loss, lean muscle gain, strength increases, and new friends!
What is an average session like? There really isn’t any such thing as an average session! Each session is different; the intensity varies week by week, and day by day, so that we may have a light day on Monday, a medium day on Wednesday, and an all out day on Friday - but even this general layout will change each week. Each session will be composed of a warm-up, the main workout, and a cool-down including stretching. The main workout may consist of strength training exercises, aerobic intervals, team competitions, plyometrics, races, and even obstacle courses! Check out these pictures from a past camp to see some of the fun in action!
How long is a camp? The camps are 4 weeks long, with 3 sessions per week.
Where are the camps located? For the summer of 2007, the camps will be held outdoors at Centennial Park in Champaign.
How much does a camp cost? The cost of a 4-week camp is $125 per person. For each camp, there is an early bird registration discount. If you sign-up at least 2 weeks before the camp starts, the cost is only $100! Compare this to personal training - the same amount of sessions would cost you almost $500!!
Do I need to be in shape before I join a camp? Definitely not!! I hear this so often: “I’ll start exercising after I lose a little weight”. Exercise is part of a complete weight loss plan, and a necessity for a healthy lifestyle. Each fitness camp will have women at all fitness levels. We use this to motivate and inspire one another. This isn’t about besting each other; it’s about challenging your own limits, and overcoming your own fears and doubts. I will offer modifications and options for the exercises and activities so as to include everyone. Come to the camp, work hard, challenge yourself, harness your power, and create your reality! Can I make up a session if I miss one? Unfortunately, no. When you join a fit camp, you are making a commitment to yourself, your health, and the other campers to attend as often as possible. I understand that life happens and sometimes you may need to miss a session. That’s OK. Just make sure you get to the next one!
Is a medical release needed to participate? Generally, no. When you join, you will be required to fill out a medical history questionnaire. I may request a medical release from your doctor if you have or had certain medical conditions. However, it is always recommended to anyone beginning an exercise program that she consult her physician first.
Can children attend your camp? In order to provide a safe and fun experience for everybody, children are not allowed to participate. You must be 18 or older.
How do I register and pay for a fit camp? You have several options. The most convenient is to pay online through Paypal. This allows you to pay with Paypal funds or with a credit card - and you don’t have to be a member of Paypal to pay with a credit card. Paying online automatically registers you for the fit camp. You can also register for a camp by emailing me and then pay by check or cash by bringing your payment to the first session.
